Due to popular demand, I've spent my entire 4th July eve at Starbucks putting together some pages on the brand spanking new introduction to the hobby Electric Blue Rams. I've also put together journal of sorts following my progress with Breeding Electric Blue Rams. Could this really be the first documented case of Electric Blues breeding in U.S. soil (water)?

Happy 4th July Everyone!!!

Coupla shrimp pages are up!! Also I did up the Phytoplankton Culture Page. And my fingers are cramping........

4/11/2009
Huff Puff Puff... Added the Calif. Blackworm Culture and Sulawesi Shrimp pages. And i just discovered that I can customize my own 404 error page!

I had a coupla questions about what fish my logo is supposed to be. Well... he's a new discovery from the city of Houston Texas and is currently referred to as "ventralfish". Since his cousin is obviously some sort of Betta, his scientific name will hereby be "Betta Marcosi Wongosi".

I still have lots of stuff to do with the site, hopefully it will be done soon.

Damn.... they have been letting people go at work this past month. It's got everyone on their toes... so i'm not even going to try to update this site while i'm at work.

Anyway... this past evening at Starbucks was productive. I managed to get the DIY pages going and put in my first DIY article on building a Kreisel Tank for my Reidi Seahorses.

Thanks for all the e-mails and positive comments. I love you all (in a straight way)!

Yay!! The new site is finally unofficially launched. I had initially planned to take a much longer time to complete the entire site before releasing it for launch, but I have had so many requests to put back the B. Macrostoma pages that I decided to just put the uncompleted site up with only the B. Macrostoma pages completed.

The site is slowly coming together and will continue to put up articles as I finish writing them. For the time being, you'll see a lot of "under construction" pages and links. I'm trying my best to get things going as fast as possible so please chill out a little and hopefully I can get everything done in a timely fashion.

07/06/2008
Okay...i updated the Diseases section. Almost done with the Mac sections....

06/14/2008
Well... I'm finally back to tending to my website. My day job has been keeping me real busy so unfortunately website upkeep was low on my priority list. I'd like to thank all you out there for the constant stream of e-mails and questions about Macs. They remind me that I have not abandoned my hobby forever. My site might be slow to be updated, but keep sending those e-mails. I like to hear from all of you Mac Lovers out there.

10/17/2007
Finally revamped the entire website to accommodate my growing number of pages. With my new navbar, I'll now have greater flexibility to expand when needed. But yes yes... i know.. still lots of construction. As my html and javascript proficiency increases, I hope to complete everything soon... soon....

10/16/2007
The microworm and vinegar eel section is complete.

09/10/2007
I added a page for culturing live food for raising fry.
Yes. Lots of stuff is still under construction. It's just a matter of finding time to sit down and put my experiences to pen and paper. But keep checking back. I hope to get it all done soon.

09/01/2007
Ok.. I've finally finished the section on mixing tapwater. Be warned, lots of science content. It's definitely not for the faint of heart.

Also!... I've started on the Breeding Section. Should be completed in a week or so. Check back for any updates.

One of my buyers who received some Macs from me from my recent auction liked the fish so much, he made a music video out of them... lol...

Check it out!! Click Here

Seems like the majority of the mail i get is how do i get the nice sweet acid water which my Macs love so much by using tap water (or R/O water) Acid Buffer and Alkaline Buffer (my preferred products). So i decided to do a write up. The "mixing" part is still not done, but do feel free to read about buffers and stuff.

06/29/2007
Sorry guys. All my available fish are gone... snapped up. I'm keeping a pair of adults for myself just in case i have an irresistable urge to breed them in the future when my job slows down a little. I also have a batch of newly hatched fry which are currently too young to sell, but be on the lookout in about 3 months or so.

06/24/2007
Yes. The rumors are true, I am downsizing. My regular job requires me to travel a lot, and i don't think i can keep up with all my spawns (especially with having to bubble BBS everyday). So i'm selling most of my fry and retaining the adults, which i will be keeping seperate for now. Lookout on Aquabid for my auctions.

Just got back from my weeklong vacation in the UK today. Noticed that the Male is once again holding, 2 weeks after he let the last batch of fry free! He sure is a horny little thing. We'll see in 3-4 weeks if he holds this to full term.

06/13/2007
Well, some of you might have noticed, my domain name has now changed. Due to some techincal conflicts, ventralfins.net has been retired and now we're permananetly at www.ventralfins.com. So update your bookmarks!

01/27/2007
I lost all but 2 of my macs during last years hurricane. I'm happy to announce that my last remaining pair finally spawned and the male finally released his first batch of fry today. There are 3 fry right now, but I'm sure that i'll find more floating around the tank.

01/05/2007
After much work, the domain name is finally registered and this page (or whatever little thre is to show for right now) is finally up! Be warned that this site is still very much a work-in-progress. You might have already noticed that some pages are incomplete or under construction. I will be posting updates on any additions to this site, so check back to see what has been added.
